No. 4 Women's Basketball Clinches ACC Title with 81-49 Win Over Pitt

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — No. 4 Louisville accomplished a major goal on Sunday, but the Cardinals know they still have work to do.

Asia Durr scored 20 points, and the Cardinals claimed their first regular-season conference title in 17 years with an 81-49 win over Pittsburgh.

Louisville (29-2, 15-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) never trailed and cruised to its fourth straight victory and eighth in nine games.

No. 5 Irish Claim Fifth Straight ACC Regular Season Title

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Through all the adversity and challenges overcome, the No. 5 University of Notre Dame women's basketball team are ACC regular season champions for the fifth consecutive year. The Irish (27-2, 15-1) picked up its nation-leading eighth ranked win on Sunday after defeating No. 21 NC State (22-6, 11-4) by the score of, 86-67, inside Purcell Pavilion.

Splash Sisters Lead Duke Past UNC on Senior Day

DURHAM, N.C. – The “Splash Sisters” duo of fifth-year seniors Rebecca Greenwell and Lexie Brown went out in style on senior day as they combined for 53 points in the triumphant 70-54 victory over North Carolina Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Blue Devils moved to 22-7 overall and 11-5 in conference play.

Duke finished in a tie for fourth in the ACC regular season standings and will be the No. 4 seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament.

Miami Tops Virginia Tech, 76-46, for 20th Win

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women's basketball team concluded the 2017-18 season in style Sunday evening, posting a 76-46 triumph over Virginia Tech on senior day at the Watsco Center.

Freshman guard Kelsey Marshall scored a game-high 17 points and notched career highs in rebounds (co-team-high eight) and assists (game-high six), to help Miami (20-9, 10-6 ACC) defeat the Hokies for the 14th consecutive time.

Seniors Help Sting Georgia Tech

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Shakayla Thomas scored 19 points, Chatrice White had her sixth double-double of the season and No. 9 Florida State rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Georgia Tech 64-61 on Sunday.

The Seminoles’ five seniors combined for 49 points in their last regular-season home game. White had 16 points and 13 rebounds while Imani Wright added 12 points.

The win gives Florida State (24-5, 12-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) a double bye in this week’s conference tournament.

Virginia Finishes Regular Season With a 48-41 Victory

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Virginia women's basketball team (17-12, 10-6 ACC) closed out the regular season with a 48-41 victory over Wake Forest (13-16, 5-11 ACC) on Sunday (Feb. 25) at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Wake Forest held a 10-point lead in the first half, but the Cavaliers chipped away and tied the game on a three-pointer from sophomore guard Dominique Toussaint (Staten Island, N.Y.) with 49 seconds remaining in the third quarter. Wake Forest briefly retook the lead, 33-31, with 8:34 remaining in the game, but the Cavaliers mounted an 8-0 run to take control of the game. Virginia went 9-of-10 from the free throw line down the stretch to close out the victory.

The Cavaliers finish the regular season in a tie for sixth place in the ACC with a 10-6 record. Due to tiebreakers, the Cavaliers will be the No. 7 seed in the ACC Tournament.

'Cuse Defeats Boston College for Fifth Straight Win

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's basketball team defeated Boston College, 69-63, on Sunday afternoon at the Carrier Dome. Abby Grant, Jasmine Nwajei and Marisa Romeo were recognized in a Senior Day ceremony prior to tipoff. The Orange finish the regular season with a 22-7 record and 10-6 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Eagles drop to 7-22 and 2-14 in conference action.
