GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina’s Ben Griffin has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golfer of the Month for October.
 
Griffin averaged 70.5 over 12 rounds in four tournaments in October with a win, a second place, three top-10 and four top-15 finishes. He was a combined 18 under par for the four events.
 
The senior from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, posted his third career victory at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate in record fashion, setting tournament and UNC single-tournament records for 54 holes for both total score (197) and score to par (19 under). He shot 67-63-67 over the three rounds to lead the Tar Heels to a team victory at the event.
 
Griffin also was ninth against a strong national field at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational and finished second at the UNCG Grandover Collegiate.
 
In addition to the team victory at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate, North Carolina posted runner-up finishes at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate and the UNCG Grandover Collegiate.
