This game marks just the second meeting ever between the two schools. NC State will be playing in its 27th bowl game and has won seven of its last 10 post-season appearances.
It's the second straight year Tech has played in El Paso, and the Jackets are meeting the Trojans for the first time since 1973, and the first time in a bowl game. The Yellow Jackets are 3-1 vs. Pac-12 teams in bowl play.
The Eagles are 5-1 all-time on December 31 and hold an 18-9 advantage against Dartmouth in the all-time series. Boston College has won four straight and five of its last six outings.
With a victory, NC State can improve to 8-0 all time against the Spartans. A Wolfpack triumph would also extend its winning streak to seven games, the longest under coach Mark Gottfried.
Both teams are ranked in the top 14 in the nation in both polls. This is just the third all-time meeting between the two Tiger programs. This will be Clemson's eighth appearance in the Chick-fil-A Bowl (formerly known as the Peach Bowl).
Tuesday, Dec. 1 Florida State and Northern Illinois will face off for the first time. The Seminoles will be making their ninth appearance ever in the Orange Bowl. The Huskies are the sixth different opponent the Seminoles have faced in the Orange Bowl.
