The Tar Heels are coming off their first road game, a 78-63 victory over Long Beach State. Sophomore forward James Michael McAdoo scored 18 points and freshman guard Marcus Paige added 15 points and six assists.
It's the first road trip of the season for the Hokies. Virginia Tech enters the game undefeated and has limited its opponents to just 12-of-74 from three-point range (16.2 percent). This is the Hokies’ fourth game in the first nine days of the season.

Duke notched its 96th consecutive nonconference win at home with an 88-67 win over Florida Gulf Coast. Mason Plumlee put up 28 points, a career-high, while Rasheed Sulaimon totaled 19 points and Ryan Kelly 14.
