FSN South's ACC ALL ACCESS spotlights the Atlantic Coast Conference, with behind-the-scenes, real-life experiences of ACC student-athletes and coaches in a live, weekly, half-hour show.
Tuesday's ALL ACCESS (5/23 at 6:30 p.m.) will look ahead to the 2006 ACC Baseball Tournament, which will be played at The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville (Fla.), 5/24-28. With regular season conference play concluding this weekend, ALL ACCESS will look at which teams are in need of a strong finish to bolster their seedings in the tournament.
ALL ACCESS reporter Jenn Hildreth will profile Florida State's Janson sister pole vaulters - Lacy, Brittany and Kristin. Lacy, a senior, is the '03 ACC indoor champion and a four-time All-American. Kristin, a junior, and Brittany, a freshman, have made valuable contributions to the FSU squad. Hildreth spends time with the three sisters, to learn how the Jansons have made this exciting field event a family affair.
ALL-ACCESS will highlight Virginia lacrosse player Ben Rubeor, who this season scored 26 goals and had 18 assists in helping the Cavaliers claim the ACC championship. The sophomore from Towson, Md., overcame injuries sustained in a high school car accident and is a stronger competitor because of his trials. ALL ACCESS will look at Rubeor's journey to success in Charlottesville.
Tuesday's show will also feature scholar-athletes from North Carolina. Gymnast Courtney Bumpers is a three time All-American as well as the '04 and '05 NCAA floor exercise champion. She was also the '05 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar award winner. Laura Gerraughty was a '04 Olympian and the '04 NCAA indoor and outdoor shot put champion. Katy Tran is '05 All-American in field hockey, and she earned ACC Academic Honor Roll accolades and was the recipient of the ACC Top VI for Service Award. Lindsey Tarpley finished her career as one of the top soccer players in the school's unparalleled history, ranking 10th all time in points. She was a member of the U.S. National team which won a gold medal at the '04 Olympics, and she was named the '03 national player of the year.
