NC State quarterback Russell Wilson was named the ACC 2008 Rookie of the Year and became the first freshman in the 57-year history of the conference to be named the All-ACC first-team quarterback. ACC All Access reporter Heather Catlin takes a closer look at Wilson’s success and how he plans to lead the Wolfpack to victory in the 2009 season.

Boston College catcher Tony Sanchez was named to the Baseball America mid-season All-America team and is the only player in the ACC to win the conference Player of the Week honor twice this season. ACC All Access profiles Sanchez, who led the Eagles in batting average (.313), hits (66), home runs (9), runs batted in (45), slugging (.517), and on-base plus slugging (.911) in 2008.

And in the ACC All Access Hog Blog, Mike Hogewood spotlights Virginia pitcher Andrew Carraway, who is a three-time All-ACC Academic Baseball Team honoree and is the Saturday starter for the Cavaliers this year.
