GREENSBORO, N.C. - Last year, Drew Weaver, then a 20-year-old sophomore at Virginia Tech, became the first American since 1979 to win the British Amateur Championship. The win was a bright spot for Weaver, who just months prior was a mere 100 yards away from the Virginia Tech shooter who killed 32 people in the deadliest shooting in U.S. history. ACC All Access reporter Heather Catlin plays a round of golf with Virginia Tech's Drew Weaver to chat about golf and life.
Top golf pros like Curtis Strange, Davis Love III and Arnold Palmer all played collegiate golf in the ACC. On the Top Five list this week, ACC All Access checks out former standout ACC golfers who have gone on to win major championships in professional golf.
Every year, the ACC announces its scholar athletes from each school, and on this week's Hog Blog segment, Mike Hogewood spotlights some ACC student athletes who excel in the classroom and on the playing field.
