'ACC Live' To Focus On Hoops

Feb. 10, 2000

ACC LIVE, FOX Sports Net's weekly, half-hour, signature program series covering the Atlantic Coast Conference, continues Monday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. EST. Originating from the network's Atlanta studio, host Mike Goldberg focuses upon basketball action and previews the Duke - Wake Forest women's hoops game which immediately follows ACC LIVE at 7:30 p.m., on FOX Sports Net.

ACC basketball analyst Debbie Antonelli is courtside at Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C., and along with Goldberg, she highlights the conference battle. The 12th-ranked Blue Devils are currently in third place in the conference, with a 7-3 mark. Junior guard Georgia Schweitzer leads Duke, averaging 16.1 points per game - third-best in the league. Wake Forest junior Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick led the Demon Deacons against Georgia Tech last Friday, recording 14 points and 15 rebounds. FSN play-by-play voice Beth Mowins is also courtside to talk with Matt Brown, the director of the Greensboro Coliseum, about the ACC Women's Tournament in the city, March 3-6.

The success of the Clemson women's basketball team under coach Jim Davis is profiled on this week's "Front Page." Davis has led the Lady Tigers to a NCAA Tournament berth in 11 of his 12 years at Clemson. In '95 Clemson did not appear in the "Big Dance," but the Lady Tigers were the runners-up at the Women's National Invitation Tournament. As this week's "Front Page," ACC LIVE goes behind the scenes to see how Davis has built a successful program.

Monday's "Hot Ticket" features the women's basketball matchup between Georgia Tech and Duke. Although losing their top starter Niesha Butler to an injury early in the season, the Lady Yellow Jackets have improved to a 5-6 conference mark. Monday's ACC LIVE also spotlights the men's hardwood action from the weekend. Recaps include: Florida State at Clemson, Wake Forest at North Carolina, Duke at Georgia Tech, and North Carolina State at Virginia.
