Championship Game Appearances – There has been at least one ACC team in the national championship in 27 of the event’s 43 years. It is the fourth straight year and eighth time in the last 11 seasons with at least one league team in the final. The four programs have combined for 29 appearances in the championship game.
National Championships – The ACC programs have combined for 12 national championships. Only nine programs nationally have won a title, and all four ACC schools are on that list.
ACC Against Nonconference Opponents -- ACC teams are 36-12 (.750) against nonconference opponents in 2013, including nine road wins and 11 victories over ranked teams. Over the last three years, that record is 114-34 (.772) and all-time it is 1578-667-3 (.703).
Tournament Records -- Eight programs nationally have a .500 record in at least 10 appearances in the tournament, including all four ACC schools. The four ACC programs also all are in the top eight when ranked by tournament wins. Combined, the four ACC programs are 151-104 (.592) in the tournament.
Looking Ahead – 2014 ACC Men’s Lacrosse will feature six programs that have combined to win 24 of the 43 national championships (56%, includes 2013), have accounted for 47 of the 86 appearances in the championship game (55%), and that earned five of the eight national seeds in 2013. All six programs rank in the top 11 in NCAA Tournament victories.
