ACC Players of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Boston College senior Jillian King has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Women’s Performer of the Week, while Clemson’s Spencer Adams claimed Men’s Performer of the Week honors.

King posted a winning time of 2:06.65 in the 800-meter run during last Thursday’s BC Multi Team Meet. The Scotia, N.Y. native’s time is the best posted in NCAA Division I so far this season and the fourth-best 800 mark in BC program history. It was the second first-place showing of the season for King, who also earned honorable mention in this week’s U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week consideration.

Adams, of Charlotte, N.C., won his second 60-meter hurdles competition of the young season, besting a field of 26 competitors at last weekend’s Auburn Invitational. Adams posted a time of 7.74 to lead a field that included several professionals, including former South Carolina standout Jimmy Dutch and former ACC champion Devon Hill (Miami). It marked Adams’ second sub-7.75 time in two official 60-meter hurdle races this season.
