GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - The Atlantic Coast Conference is well represented in today's NCAA Academic Performance Public Recognition announcement with all 12 member institutions having at least two teams recognized for being in the top 10 percent of all squads in their sport.

A total of 57 teams from ACC schools earned recognition across 26 sports, including five teams from non-ACC Division I sports. This marks the third straight year all 12 ACC member institutions were recognized with at least one award.

Thirteen FBS football programs were honored by the NCAA on Wednesday, including four from the ACC: Boston College, Clemson, Duke and Georgia Tech. A total of 976 teams nationally were publicly recognized for high achievement, representing 594 women’s teams and 382 men’s or mixed squads. In 2012, 954 teams were recognized.

Duke led all ACC schools with 15 awards. Boston College was second among league schools with 13 teams honored, followed by North Carolina (5), Wake Forest (5), Miami (3), NC State (3), Virginia (3), Clemson (2), Georgia Tech (2), Florida State (2), Maryland (2) and Virginia Tech (2).

Each year, the NCAA tracks the classroom performance of student-athletes on every Division I team through the annual scorecard of academic achievement, known as APR. The rate measures eligibility, graduation and retention each semester or quarter and provides a clear picture of the academic performance in each sport. The most recent APRs are multi-year rates based on scores from the 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-2012 academic years.

Full APR scores for all teams will be released on June 11. Listed below are ACC teams recognized on Wednesday:
