GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – NC State senior Kody Burke and Duke senior Haley Peters have been named to the 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-America Division I Women’s Basketball Team. Burke was named to the first team, while Peters earned third team honors.

Burke, a three-time Academic All-American, owns a 3.93 grade point average with a major in business administration. Burke is averaging 15 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 46.1 percent from the field for the Wolfpack who has been nationally ranked this season for the last seven weeks.

She is the third three-time Academic All-American in ACC women’s basketball history. Burke earned third team honors during the 2012-13 and 2011-12 seasons.

Obtaining a degree in political science along with a minor in English, Peters has recorded a 3.787 grade-point average over her Duke career.  The 6-3 forward has started all 21 contests she has played in for the seventh-ranked Blue Devils (23-3, 10-2 ACC), while averaging 10.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals. 

Burke and Peters are two of 15 athletes selected to the team. Both were first team All-District honorees, thus qualified as candidates for the selection to the Academic All-America Team.
