Syracuse Falls Short at Northwestern, 48-27

EVANSTON, Ill. (SUAthletics.com) – Syracuse was outmatched by Northwestern's defense and two-quarterback system and lost the second game of the season at Ryan Field on Saturday night, despite second half efforts. The Orange move to an 0-2 record while the Wildcats improve to 2-0 on the season.

Ashton Broyld and Christopher Clark lead the offense with a combined 13 catches for 128 yards. Jerome SmithKendall MoorePrince-Tyson Gulley and Terrel Hunt each had a touchdown in the contest.

Smith lead the SU rushers with 11 yards on 45 carries and with his touchdown has matched his TD total from all of last season. 

Drew Allen went 27-41-4 and threw one touchdown pass. Hunt, who took over for Allen late in the fourth quarter, went 2-4 and rushed for a touchdown. 

The Wildcat defense created four turnovers off four interceptions. SU failed to create a turnover despite a forced fumble from Jay Bromley.
