Seven ACC Field Hockey Teams Ranked in Preseason Poll

Five league squads earn top-10 rankings

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – All seven ACC field hockey teams will begin the 2013 season nationally ranked, as announced Tuesday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

Led by No. 1 North Carolina and No. 2 Maryland, five teams were voted into the top 10, including No. 5 Syracuse, No. 7 Virginia, and No. 10 Duke. Also earning preseason rankings were No. 18 Wake Forest and No. 19 Boston College.

With North Carolina at No. 1, it is the 95th time out of the last 106 polls since 2003 that the top-ranked team in the country has been an ACC squad.
