Semifinals Set for 2013 @ACCMSoccer Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The field is set for the semifinals of the 2013 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Championship, with the tournament getting under way on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s quarterfinal action at the campus sites of the higher seeded teams found No. 1 Maryland blanking No. 8 Boston College, 2-0, No. 2 Notre Dame edging No. 7 Duke, 1-0, No. 4 Clemson topping No. 5 North Carolina, 2-1, and No. 6 Virginia defeating No. 3 Wake Forest, 1-0, in overtime.
The tournament now moves to Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, Md., which will be the host site for the semifinals and final for the second-straight year and the third time overall.
Friday’s semifinals will feature Maryland versus Clemson and Notre Dame against Virginia. The Terrapins defeated the Tigers, 3-1, on Sept 21., while the Cavaliers were victorious, 2-0, over the Irish on Oct. 26. Both games will be broadcast by ESPN3.
The winners advance to next Sunday’s 2 p.m. championship match, which will be broadcast nationally by ESPNU.
Single session tickets purchased in advance are available for $10 for adults, $7 for youth, and $5 for students that attend an ACC institution. Three-game packages can be purchased for $17.50 for adults and $10.50 for youth.
