Notre Dame Captures Four @ACCSwimDive Weekly Awards

Stephens, Reaney, Streepey and Coumos honored
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Notre Dame men’s and women’s swimming & diving program combined for a sweep of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s weekly awards, marking the second occasion this season that the Fighting Irish have swept the league’s weekly honors. Sophomore Lindsey Streepey, freshman Joe Coumos and juniors Zach Stephens and Emma Reaney each were cited for their efforts at the Hawkeye Invitational from Dec. 6-8.
Stephens, who was named the Male Swimmer of the Week, set the Notre Dame program record in the 200 IM during the preliminary round with a time of 1:44.34 Friday at the Hawkeye Invitational, becoming the first Irish swimmer to crack 1:45.00 in the distance in team history. He was also a member of the victorious 200 and 400 free relay, and 200 and 400 medley relay squads. The 200 medley (1:26.11) and 400 medley (3:11.15) teams both set program records during the meet. Counting times from the prelims and the finals, Stephens registered five NCAA ‘B’ cuts and two first-place finishes at the Hawkeye Invitational.
At the Hawkeye Invitational, Reaney, the Female Swimmer of the Week, recorded two NCAA ‘A’ cuts, one ‘B’ cut and six first-place finishes to help the Irish to a first-place finish. In the 200 IM, the Lawrence, Kan., native set meet and pool records with a time of 1:55.18. Additionally, Reaney set school, meet and pool records in the 200 breaststroke, as she recorded a time of 2:05.85. In the 400 medley relay, Reaney helped propel her teammates to a meet record time of 3:36.84. In the NCAA individual time charts, Reaney holds top 10 times in the country in 100 breaststroke (6th), 200 breaststroke (1st) and 200 IM (6th).
Streepey earned her first Diver of the Week honor following three top-three finishes at the Hawkeye Invitational. The Dallas, Texas, native notched three NCAA zone standard scores in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform dive. Streepey placed third in the 1-meter with a score of 289.25, second in the 3-meter with a 330.25 and third in the platform with a 241.55.
On his way to his second ACC Diver of the Week honor of the season, Coumos set a Notre Dame and career-high score of 398.20 in the 3-meter event on Sunday. He now has five overall performances (one 1-meter, four 3-meter) of 350 or more points this season. Coumos was also the 1-meter runner-up (333.50 points), and scored 290.60 points for fourth place in the team’s first platform final of the season.
