Senior forward leads Terrapins’ road win at fourth-ranked Clemson

GREENBORO, N.C. – Maryland senior forward Patrick Mullins has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week after his two-goal performance in the Terrapins’ 3-1 road win over fourth-ranked and previously unbeaten Clemson.

Mullins, the 2012 MAC Hermann Trophy winner, tallied the first and final goals against the Tigers, who had surrendered just one goal in six matches this season prior to Saturday night’s contest. Mullins sealed the win in the 83rd minute when pulled down in the box and converted the subsequent penalty opportunity for his second goal of the match. The New Orleans native’s efforts helped the Terps remain unbeaten in ACC play. The two-year captain boasts four goals and three assists this season and shares the Maryland team lead in scoring with 11 points.
