Former ACC Players Set for Hockey World Cup

Twelve of 18 on the U.S. national team played in the ACC

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Twelve current and former ACC field hockey student-athletes are on the 18-member U.S. roster at the 2014 Rabobank Hockey World Cup, being held in the Hague, Netherlands, on May 31 through June 15.

Former players from the ACC on the roster include Duke’s Stefanie Fee, Maryland’s Jill Witmer and Katie O’Donnell, North Carolina’s Rachel Dawson, Katelyn Falgowski, Kelsey Kolojejchick, and Jackie Kintzer, Virginia’s Michelle Vittese and Paige Selenski, and Wake Forest’s Lauren Crandall and Michaelle Kasold.

North Carolina’s Emily Wold, a rising junior, is the only current collegiate player on the roster.

The U.S. women will compete in Group B with Argentina, China, England, Germany, and South Africa, and will open play on Sunday against England.

The entire World Cup will be carried by ESPN3.
