ACC Men’s Swimmers & Divers Receive Dozens of Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Competing in the 2014 NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships held in Austin, Texas, this past weekend, Atlantic Coast Conference swimmers and divers earned one individual national championship, 28 All-America honors and 23 honorable mention All-America honors.

Duke senior diver Nick McCrory was one of the ACC’s top performing student-athletes, as he closed out his collegiate career by winning his fourth NCAA platform diving title – the first athlete to accomplish that feat. In addition to his individual national championship, McCrory earned All-America status in the 1-meter dive event to give him a total of 11 All-America honors in his diving career with the Blue Devils.

NC State placed the highest among ACC teams, as it registered 113.5 points. The Wolfpack was followed by Florida State (14th, 105 points), Virginia Tech (20th, 46 points), Duke (21st, 36 points), Miami (25th, 26 points), Virginia (26th, 23 points), Notre Dame (30th, 14 points), North Carolina (38th, 7 points) and Georgia Tech (47th, 1.5 points).

This marks the fifth consecutive year that the ACC has had at least three teams finish in the top 20 of the final team standings at the NCAA Championships.
