Coming off their 11th NCAA Tournament appearance in 12 years, the Panthers return three starters for head coach Jamie Dixon from a team that finished 24-9 overall and fourth in the Big East with a 12-6 conference mark ... Pittsburgh lost three of its first four games in Big East play, but rebounded to post its 12th-straight 20-win season ... 12 of Pittsburgh’s 18 Big East regular season games were decided by 10 points or less ... guard Tray Woodall was a third-team All-Big East selection while center Steven Adams was named to the league’s All-Rookie team ... with four players shooting over 49 percent, the Panthers led the Big East, for the first time in nine years, and were 20th nationally in field goal percentage (.472).
James Robinson averaged 6.1 points, 3.5 assists and 2.1 rebounds as a freshman in 2013 ... started 32 of 33 games and ranked third on the team in minutes played (26.6) ... led the Big East and ranked ninth nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.83-to1).
Lamar Patterson, a two-year starter with 66 consecutive starts at small forward is the team’s leading returning scorer (10.0) and second-leading rebounder (4.3) ... also ranked third on the team in assists (2.8) and has a career assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.81:1 (273:151) ... scored in double figures 17 times a year ago, including in nine of the last 16 games ... has five career double-doubles.
