Steve Donahue returns for his fourth season welcoming back a league-high five starters and seven of the top eight scorers from a year ago ... the Eagles, a team with no upperclassmen in its starting lineup, finished 16-17 overall in 2013 and eighth place in the ACC with a 7-11 league mark ... Boston College was 4-1 in the month of March ... 10 of their 18 ACC regular-season games were decided by five points or less; the Eagles were 3-7 in those games, including three one-point losses.
The Eagles are the only team in the ACC to return seven players with 20 or more career starts ... Ryan Anderson leads the way with 60 career starts, followed by Lonnie Jackson (43), Dennis Clifford (39), Olivier Hanlan (33), Joe Rahon (33), Patrick Heckmann (32) and Danny Rubin (24) ... when you add Eddie Odio (8) and K.C. Caudill (6), the Eagles return a league-high 278 career starts.
Olivier Hanlan was named 2013 ACC Freshman of the Year ... scored in double figures in all but five games ... led team and was fifth in the ACC in scoring (15.4) ... set an ACC freshman single-game scoring mark with 41 points in the Eagles’ ACC Tournament opening round win over Georgia Tech.
Ryan Anderson earned 3rd-team All-ACC honors a year ago after averaging 14.9 points and 8.0 rebounds ... has led the Eagles in rebounding in each of his first two seasons.
