Senior leads Eagles to wins over No. 5 Syracuse, Providence
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College senior midfielder Paige Norris has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week after keying the Eagles to two wins, including a league victory over fifth-ranked Syracuse.
Norris led Boston College with five points in wins over the Orange and Providence. The Victoria, B.C., native had two assists in Friday’s win over Syracuse, the second of which came on the go-ahead goal of the Eagles’ 6-3 win. With the match knotted at 2-2, Norris dribbled into the circle and delivered a shot on net that teammate Chapin Duke tipped in. Boston College led the rest of the way, and found some breathing room when Norris assisted on the next goal for a 4-2 lead.
In the 2-0 win over Providence on Sunday, Norris assisted on the first score and added an insurance goal early in the second half to finish with three points. Norris is tied for the Boston College team lead with six assists on the year.
