Three individual national champions highlight strong showing in NCAA finals

GREENBORO, N.C. – Led by national champions Dentarius Locke (60 meters) and James Harris (high jump) of Florida State, and Duke’s Curtis Beach (heptathlon), Atlantic Coast Conference student athlete earned a total of 84 All-America honors during last weekend’s NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Albuquerque, N.M.

The honors were confirmed and announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday.

Notre Dame’s Patrick Feeney was the lone athlete in the meet, male or female, with three first-team nods: the 400 meters and the 4×400 and distance medley relays.

First-team honors were given to those who placed in the championships’ top eight in an event or were a member of an eight-person final. Second team honors were earned by those who finished between ninth and 16th place. In addition, 14 men and four women earned honorable mention honors.

USTFCCCA membership by a program is required to earn All-America awards.
