ACC Field Hockey - By the Numbers

National Semifinalists
For the past 14 years, the ACC has produced at least half of the national semifinalists. Nine times during that stretch, including in 2013, three ACC teams have reached that stage. In history, the league teams have made a combined 53 trips to the semifinals, or 40% of all NCAA semifinalists have been ACC squads.

National Championships
League teams have combined to win 17 national championships -- all within the last 26 years -- and have won 10 of the last 11 titles. At least one team has reached the national championship game for 15 straight years (including 2013), and the final game has been an all-ACC matchup 11 times, including eight of the last 10 years. The programs have combined for 34 appearances in the title game.

Winning Programs
In NCAA Tournament history, four of the top five teams by winning percentage are from the ACC, and  five of the top 12 by wins are from the league.

Tops in the Polls
Five ACC teams are ranked in the top 10 of the final NFHCA Poll, including four of the top five. The ACC has held at least half of the NFHCA Top 10 in every poll in 2013, and all seven ACC programs have been ranked every week this season.

Nonconference Record
The seven ACC teams hold a combined 83-11 record against nonconference opponents, a winning percentage of .906.

Tough Competition
ACC teams have combined for a 29-10 mark against nonconference opponents ranked in the NFHCA Poll, including 15 wins over top 10 opponents.

Senior Bowl Invitees
Six ACC student-athletes have been invited to participate in the 2013 Front Rush/NFHCA Division I Senior Game, to be held on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Virginia Beach, Va. The roster includes Boston College’s Paige Norris, Duke’s Paula Heimbach and Emmie Le Marchand, Maryland’s Ali McEvoy and Jill Witmer, and Wake Forest’s Taylor Rhea.

NFHCA All-Region Honors
Thirty-five student-athletes from the ACC were selected to the NFHCA All-Region Teams, 14 more than from any other conference. That lists includes 20 first team members and three Region Players of the Year: Maryland’s Jill Witmer, Boston College’s Emma Plasteras, and North Carolina’s Emily Wold.
